The North Sea Regatta is the Netherlands largest seagoing sailing event.
The North Sea Regatta is a spectacular sailing event which begins with two offshore races: the Vuurschepenrace (Lightship race) and the North Sea Race from Scheveningen to Harwich and back. These are followed by four days' competitions off the Scheveningen coast over the Whit weekend.
The sailing event is made possible by a large number of sponsors and an enormous team of volunteers. Blue Projects built the Captains Club for the North Sea Regatta (comparable to the “Holland House” during the Olympic Games) - with a restaurant, brasserie, presentation area and a press office - where sponsors could receive their guests and offer celebrities an opportunity to enjoy lunch or dinner. During the North Sea Regatta Blue Projects provided assistance with partner mediation, ordering the furniture, organizing the logistics for the furniture and the requisites, as well as the hospitality. During the event the Project Manager focused on making sure that everything went smoothly.
Sailors and business relations of ABN AMRO, as main sponsor, and of other companies, sub-sponsors or suppliers, wishing to make use of the facilities made available to them.
Construction/management of a temporary restaurant for the sponsors' guests, partner mediation, and the management of the project.
"2007 was the first year in which we worked together with Blue Projects. As far as we are concerned we had an excellent experience with a young, dynamic and extremely hard-working team. In spite of many (too) late wishes from our sponsors, Blue Projects always remained calm - and we received more than 2,000 of our sponsors' guests with hospitality of an almost unsurpassable level. This was anything but a regular assignment; instead of calling in a caterer, the Regatta requested the services of the Michelin-star chef Paul van Waarden, from Rijswijk. This made great demands on Blue Projects and the interior builder, Wim Hees. To put it in a nutshell, mission accomplished as far as we are concerned!", according to Frans Sluyters, PR & Sponsorships Stichting North Sea Regatta.

A bare building was completely transformed into a restaurant with a professional kitchen. The client did not need to devote any attention to the logistics organizations of the Captains Club and the furniture for the event site. A database was also developed for potential partners.
